Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    12th November COWS OFFSITE (Grazing team)

    Hi all, many apologies, we forgot to blog to update you all yesterday! We have taken the 3 cows off pondtail for a routine tb test. They will not be returning to site in the near future so thankyou very much for your help and dedication checking them for us! It is always muchly appreciated and we would not be able to have a herd so large that has so much impact without you guys!

    Spotted 2 of 3 eating gorse in the sunshine. 3rd may have been there too but I couldn't see her. Only viewed from the path at W3W: bath.calculating.polar as field a complete bog.

    GRAZING UPDATE - Fri 4th Oct

    Central field gate opened to allow access to both compartments. Please leave open. Cattle straight across to explore canal side. All well.

    Found all 3 grazing in the sun by the gate. All looking very clean and healthy.

    Bumped into another "looker" for the first time! Nice to meet you Michael.

    All 3 spotted eating gorse towards the stream side. Couldn't get to them to look any closer. Is it possible to have access through the far gate reinstated? (currently lots of tape keeping it closed).

    All 3 found hiding under the trees near the gate into the southern half of the site. All looked a tad damp, but fine otherwise.
