Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

    October 31

All well. While I was with them by the corral gate, they were harassed by a retriever...they backed away at first but then faced up to it. I gave it the Eye and it retreated.
Is there a notice on the Pondtail gate yet. I forgot to look as I went through. It also doesn’t latch properly though it jams shut.
I’ve seen them a lot passing through recently....if there are days not covered by a regular looker, I could blog when I see them...could you post which days have no one allocated. Thanks

    1. Hi Helen

Thanks for the note re the incident with the retriever. I will let Guy know about this one in case the incident needs recording.

I will also pass the note re the Pondtail gate issue and need for a sign there on to the rest of the team.

Thanks very much for the offer of blogging on days that are not already covered. I will ask Guy to get in touch with you about this as he is the looker coordinator and will know which days are not currently covered.

      Thanks

      Susanne
