Emergency Procedure

If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure:

  1. Call the office on 01256 381190.
  2. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call.
  3. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly.

NOTES:

  • Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call.

  • If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed.

  • Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact.

    Thank you!

i went to look as i wasnt quite clear where the three to gelverts had come from but i saw none. wiill they be off for awhile? I cant look for two or three weeks now. the signs are still on the gates and the status says four cattle so i just checked to be sure e werent missing potentially sick animals...they have been busy in the acorns and there is a super abu dance of acorns this year. we havent had issues before.

    1. Hi Helen
I'm not sure but I'm wondering if the post mentioning the Gelvert animals was posted in error to this page as the same post was also made to the Caesar's Camp page. Alternatively, it could be that Ned just wanted to share the warning re acorn poisoning so shared the message to this page too. I'll try and confirm what's going on and will make sure the page is updated accordingly!
      Thanks
      Susanne

    2. Hi again Helen

I've looked into this and it sounds like it was posted in error, so apologies for that and thank you for taking the time to double check that there were no sick animals on site.

I've deleted the original post and have also uploaded a note about acorn poisoning which has affected an animal on another of our sites (the subject of the misplaced post).

      Thanks

      Susanne
